Skills for Life

Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation; we change lives by delivering 4 to 18-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact on their lives and their communities.

Welcome to 1st Millbrook Scout Group

We are nestled in the beautiful Cornish village of Millbrook and are lucky enough to have our own Scout Hall in the heart of the village. We have one Beaver Colony, one Cub Pack and one Scout Troop with about 50 Young People spread across the three sections.

Our location enables us easy access to the South West Coast path, beaches and country parks. During the summer term our goal is to be outside as much as possible to prepare our Young People with Skills For Life.

We aim to utilise the Scout Association’s programme, this is built around completing several Challenge Awards which lead to a Chief Scout’s Award in each section.

That starts at the beginning in Beavers with hiking skills, basic navigation by day and night, learning about nature as well as a wide range of other activities. We look at developing confidence, resilience, tolerance and adaptability and always try to Do Our Best.

At 1st Millbrook Scouts, like every other Group in the country, we rely on volunteers to deliver Scouting to our community and The Scout Association has an excellent adult training programme to facilitate this. You can learn new skills (practical, management and leadership) and help our young people experience truly memorable adventures and grow as individuals. Volunteering is #GoodForYou, enhances your CV and most importantly is FUN.
